A pool that has turned green needs a review of its condition, not a promise based on color alone. Explain when the problem began, whether the equipment is running, and whether you want a cleanup followed by regular care.
American Pool Services connects homeowners with independent providers. The provider confirms scope, price and availability; a request is not a booking.

01
Describe the condition and the timeline.
Tell the provider whether you can see the bottom, whether there is settled debris, and how long the pool has been without care. Mention a recent storm or an interruption to the equipment if one occurred. These details help frame the assessment without claiming to diagnose the cause from a form.
02
Ask for the cleanup plan and its boundaries.
Clarify which visits, tests, cleaning tasks and chemical charges are included. Ask what would change the quote and what needs your approval first. If equipment is not working, discuss that alongside the water condition so a cleanup request does not overlook a separate issue.
03
Discuss the routine after the reset.
An initial cleanup is not the same agreement as recurring service. If you want both, ask for the ongoing scope and rate separately. Also ask how the provider will explain the results and any follow-up that is needed before the pool returns to normal use.
BEFORE AGREEING TO THE WORK
Questions to ask a provider.
What will you assess before recommending a cleanup approach?
Which visits, materials and possible equipment work are included or separate?
If draining is proposed, why is it needed and where can the water go?
Can the builder give a guaranteed cleanup price or completion date?+
No. Condition, equipment and the provider’s assessment affect the plan. The request does not set a price, confirm a match, or reserve a visit.
Should I automatically request a drain-and-refill?+
Describe the condition first. Ask the provider to explain whether draining is appropriate and how discharge and refilling would be handled for the property.
